Carving Set
Steel is 440 C with nickle silver handmade fittings. Nickle silver will stay beautiful for years since it doesn't tarnish.
The cutting edge of the blade was sharpened to 15 degrees which makes the blade razor sharp.
Stag handles. I love working with stag since it is such a classic handle material in the knife making world.
Flat grind on the blade with hand polished satin finish. Swedge added to blade.
Spanish notch on bottom of blade as embellishment and to accentuate the Spanish influence in Texas.
From a young age I used to watch my Dad carving our meat during family meals. My Dad also taught me the right way to carve meat. This tradition sparked an interest in carving sets. When I started making knives I always had it in the back of my mind to make a carving set. And finally I did and I can say that I am proud of this set. It is well balanced with the right blade length of 7 inches. It is an art piece which can be a heirloom.
